Remote Access ToolsNACK Center brings cutting-edge technology and instrumentation into your classroom, laboratory, and industry site by offering remote access to nanotechnology processing instruments. Traditionally, an engineer from Penn State University orchestrates the instrument’s use, while offering additional assistance via phone or video conference. Remote access experiences have been held as far away as Australia! Available Instrumentation
Remote Access RequirementsIn order to participate in a remote access experience, you must have a high speed Internet access. It is recommended that you have onsite technical support because there is software that you need to download in order to conduct the remote access and you may need permission from your IT department in order to download this software. Additionally, remote access uses either a land line phone with speaker phone capability or Skype (can be accessed via a high speed Internet connection). If you have any questions about the remote access requirements, or would like to set up remote access time, please fill out the Remote Access Form (click here). Remote Access Example ActivitiesWe have provided some example activities that you can use during a remote session that you can obtain by clicking here. For further questions regarding remote access, please contact Sebastien Maeder at sbm123@psu.edu or 814-867-2948. |
